You know how I keep saying how much I love Anne McCaffrey's stories?

Well, when I closed out the two major series under my Celia Roman pen name, I thought, why not write some good, old-fashioned McCaffrey-style Science Fiction, but with some smexy times thrown in?

I liked the idea so much, that I tweaked Sweet Surrender (the upcoming sequel to my first Science Fiction Romance novel, The Choosing), to add some much-loved elements from McCaffrey's stories.

But I didn't stop there. Oh, no.

Instead, I plunged headfirst into a brand new SciFi Romance series called Warlords of Zephyria.

Now, yes, at first glance, this series looks a lot like the standard fated-mate slash captive bride slash monster love SFR that's so prevalent in today's market. Or on Amazon's bestseller lists anyway.

And it's true that this new series contains many of these old standbys.

If this were a late-night ad, here's where I would say, "But wait! There's more!"

Because this series goes a whole lot deeper than that.

The women those alien warlords select for their potential mates are scientists, engineers, and researchers. Mia Reynolds, the heroine in the first book, The Alien Warlord's Fated Mate, is a crop scientist who's dedicated her entire career to wiping out famine. Her two closest gal pals, who also get abducted, work as a linguist and an astrophysicist, and their fellow abductees include an evolutionary biologist, an immunologist, an engineer who's worked on creating an Alcubierre warp drive, and more.

And while I'm not stuffing so much science in that it overshadows the story (no Hard SciFi here!), I'm not glossing over it either. The science and technology these women chose as careers serve a real purpose in their stories.

But I'm getting ahead of myself. The Alien Warlord's Fated Mate is a test to see if readers enjoy the combination of smexy Romance along with their Space Opera Science Fiction fun and adventure. Hopefully, you will as I'm enjoying the heck out of writing these stories!
