I give a lot of thought to the stories I write and how and when I present them. For the past few weeks (until about a week ago), I've been working on plotting, researching, and beginning "Second Chance Christmas," which I was supposed to release around Thanksgiving. This one is simply not gelling, which means either that I can't recapture the initial excitement that got me rolling or that the characters simply aren't ready for me to work on them, probably some combination of those two. So, I'm putting it on the back burner and working on something else for a while. The good news is, that something else might be Say Yes. We'll see! In the meantime, titles in the Daughters of the People Series will continue to be released on time.

Productivity is definitely not the problem behind SCC. I recently hit the 500,000 word mark, about two months ahead of schedule. All but 86,000 words of that are polished (i.e. published or soon to be) words; that 86K is the first draft of Tempered, due out in December. I write fiction under two pen names, so if you're trying to get half a million words from the Lucy Varna titles, you'll come up a wee bit short. 😉

I'm looking for ARC readers, specifically, ten people who are willing to post honest reviews on Amazon.com on the day a title is released. You will receive an ARC (advance copy) ahead of time and will, I hope, always have two weeks to read the story, write a review, and post it online. If you're interested, please contact me.
