Fellow indy author Carol Davis recently issued a call for guest bloggers to write on the theme of family. She accepted my offer to help. The result was, "On the Nature of Family." Drop by, say hello to Carol, and enjoy her blog. Don't forget to check out her books, which look awesome!

The Kindle edition of A Wicked Love (Witches of Cullowhee, Book 2) is available as a FREE download this week. Both books in this series were designed to be read as stand-alones, so you can enjoy this story without having read A Higher Purpose.

We went to Maker Faire Atlanta this past weekend. (Technically speaking, it was held in Decatur.) If you've never been to a Maker Faire, you should definitely go. There are all kinds of booths, from handicrafts to homeschooling groups to technology and, wow, there's just a lot going on. If it can be made, I think there was a group for it.
One of the booths was sponsored by re:loom, a group that employs the homeless and people with lower incomes, and teaches them to weave using recycled material, much of it donated. I love it when people innovate like this, doing the most good where they can, so of course I had to buy something. I chose the three placemats and two coasters shown on the left. If I'd had more money with me, I would've bought an area rug as well, but alas! That was all my souvenir money.
If you're interested in buying great products that give people a hand up and help protect our environment at the same time, re:loom also sells these wonderful items online.
