As a prelude to (finally!) writing War's Last Refuge, I'm rereading select Daughters of the People novels.
Recently, I reread Say Yes, a spinoff of Tempered, an interstitial novel in the Daughters of the People Series that was a finalist in the Georgia Romance Writer's Maggie Award for Excellence in 2015 in the Paranormal Romance category.
Say Yes is the story of Hawthorne the Chronicler's great-grandson Levi Ewart, a handsome, charming Son possessing the same steel spine as his progenitor, and Serafina Noland, a single mom who's been burned before.
As I was reading it, I realized what a great beach read Say Yes is, but I also realized that it doesn't really stand alone. To understand some of the characters and references, readers need to have read Hawthorne's story.
Since it's spring break season, instead of just putting Say Yes on sale, I decided to also put Tempered on sale, so readers can get the full story of these wonderful characters.
This weekend only, you can pick up the ebook editions of Tempered and Say Yes for just $.99 each at a wide variety of online retailers.
That price is good through Monday, April 22, 2024 EDT.
If you've ever been curious about the Daughters of the People Series, Tempered is a great place to start. And once you've read it, you'll definitely want to pick up Levi's story, too.
Happy reading!
