News Roundup

The blog posts hosted on my old Weebly site have now been completely moved to this one. Some irrelevant ones were deleted, a few carried over without their accompanying pictures, and I tried to update what URLs I could, to aid with navigation and SEO. Other than that, they were (largely) moved wholesale without any other changes.

It was interesting looking back on these old posts (some of which dated from March 2014, the month after my first novel was published) and watching my journey as a writer develop over time. My enthusiasm in 2014 and 2015 was incredibly high, and it's evident from reading those old posts that I had more ideas than I knew what to do with. Some of those ideas have since been written. Others are still awaiting words. Still, it was an interesting glimpse into my writing past.

What am I working on now?

Well, I was supposed to move into writing non-romantic Science Fiction this year. However, I find that I cannot move forward until I finish my old series.

Right now, I'm working primarily on Sweet Surrender, the sequel to The Choosing [Amazon affiliate link], my first SciFi Romance novel.

Sweet Surrender follows the adventures of Tyelu af Alna, Ryn's adoptive sister, as she navigates the murky world of romance while also dealing with family issues and new threats from the Sweepers.

The first draft is roughly 25% finished, by my estimate. I'm slowly rebranding the series, so the cover shown on the website may not be the one it's released with. I promise to let readers know as soon as Tyelu's story is finished.

While I'm at the whole rebranding thing, I've contracted with a different cover designer to create a new cover for The Prophecy [Amazon affiliate link], my very first novel and the introduction to the Daughters of the People Series. The current covers, while more than adequate, are so out of date it's silly.

Plus, right now the covers across series look so different, it's difficult for readers to get a good "feel" for the kinds of stories I write. My brand needs to be more cohesive, especially as I do more live events, so that's something I hope to work on in 2025.

One other thing I'm thinking of doing is creating a special 10th anniversary edition of The Prophecy. I probably won't get it out until 2025 (the 11th anniversary), but I'm more concerned with updating the story and layout than with the timing. Will readers care if I release the 10th anniversary edition a year late? Probably not. On the other hand, perhaps I'll simply call it the "3rd edition" and save the special edition for the book's 15th anniversary.

Either way, I'd like for it to look sharp when I bring it to events, which I haven't yet done.

I'm also developing the final novel in the Daughters of the People Series. Thank you for your patience.

Happy reading!
