It’s only five more days until the official release of Sanctuary (Daughters of the People, Book 5). Pre-order and paperback links are on the book’s page. Tracy Ehlers of Paranormal, Magic & Mischief has already posted a review on GoodReads, calling Sanctuary a “fantastic continuation” of the series.

Thief of Hearts (A Novella of the Pruxnae) is undergoing final edits as I write this. It’s scheduled to hit early reviewers’ inboxes around September 1. A pre-order link is available on the book’s page.

Work on Book 2 of the Pruxnae Series, Alien Mine, is coming along swimmingly. It’s set on Earth near my hometown, so there’s a lot of Southern mountain humor, most of it good-natured. No idea yet when it’ll be released yet. I’m developing a very special spin-off novella. I don’t want to spoil the surprise, but expect more news on that and Tyelu’s story later in the year.

I’m also hard at work on The Gathering Storm, the next installment in the Daughters of the People Series. (I tend to juggle several projects at once. Keeps me on my toes.) A couple of characters introduced in Sanctuary are likely to make an appearance and, of course, the various stories played out over the entire series will receive a good bit of attention, leading up to the series’ conclusion in the final two books, Redemption and War’s Last Refuge.

I have thoroughly enjoyed writing the Daughters of the People Series. Originally, it was only supposed to be seven books long, but two characters really stepped forward and stayed with me (read: nagged me) until I worked their stories into the series. You met those two characters in already-published books, Hawthorne the Beheader in Tempered and India Furia in The Enemy Within.

There are other characters deserving of their own stories, too, and I hope someday to bring them to you. Right now, I have tentative plans for a second Sons of the People novel, set after War’s Last Refuge. My schedule went topsy-turvy when The Choosing came out. To accommodate readers of that series, I’ve done a lot of rearranging. Rest assured that I’m not abandoning the world of the People. I love it too much to give it up and am working hard to continue releasing a new title in that world every four to six months.
