First Lines of Upcoming Stories

I absolutely cannot keep secrets. (I know, it's terrible, but there ya go.) That's why y'all are usually the second group of people to know what I'm working on, besides Richard and my son. I've got so many things up in the air right now that I'm really doing a balancing act. In addition to putting the final touches on A Wicked Love, I'm also writing both Tempered and Say Yes, as well as handling all the other things I have to take care of each day. But, I can't wait to share all this with y'all, so here are some sneak peeks at upcoming titles. Let's kick it off with the first lines of published books to get in the mood:

"Maya Bellegarde stepped off the plane and breathed in the sweet air of late spring, bracing herself against the heat boiling up from the tarmac." --The Prophecy (Daughters of the People, Book 1)

"Daniella Nehring stood behind the a string of yellow police tape and stared at the remains of the man left in a dark alley in one of the Big Apple's worst slums." --Light's Bane (Daughters of the People, Book 2)

"He came in early that Monday, shaking off the cold rain with the absent-minded air of a man with things to do." --A Higher Purpose (Witches of Cullowhee, Book 1)

And now a look at upcoming titles with their scheduled release dates.

"Lacephine Monahan noticed Rafe Prewitt the moment he swaggered into the room, and thought, There's the Devil, come to tempt me." --A Wicked Love (Witches of Cullowhee, Book 2), 15 August 2014

"Indigo Dupree stood in the middle of her new apartment surrounded by an assortment of packed boxes." --The Enemy Within (Daughters of the People, Book 3), 3 October 2014

"The noise in the main conference room of the Hyatt Regency Atlanta grew as fans flocked in to watch the stick fighting exhibition and the wrestling matches that followed." --Tempered (A Daughters of the People Novel), 5 December 2014

Finally, here's a preview of an unexpected story, tentatively titled Say Yes, which is set in the world of the People. I have a few fledgling ideas on what I'm going to do with this one, but more on that later. Here's the first line:

"The way Serafina Noland figured it, a woman deserved a vacation every once in a while, especially a woman whose biggest obligation outside of work was, at that moment, being spoiled rotten by his grandparents in Orlando." --Say Yes

That's it for now!
